    2014 Cantor Fitzgerald’s Charity Day

    Thursday, September 11
    New York, NY

The Bone Marrow Foundation participated in BGC Partners and Cantor Fitzgerald’s Annual Global Charity Day on September 11, 2014. Cantor Fitzgerald and affiliate BGC Partners commemorate the 658 Cantor employees who perished in the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center attacks by donating 100% of revenues on their annual Charity Day to dozens of charities worldwide.

As a significant feature to Charity Day, celebrity ambassadors volunteer to represent each charity. The Bone Marrow Foundation was pleased to have actor John Slattery, most known from his role as Roger Sterling in AMC’s Mad Men. Slattery along with other celebrity “ambassadors” joined the licensed brokers on the trading floor to conduct transactions with clients. The Bone Marrow Foundation is grateful for John Slattery’s involvement and his help in raising critical funds to support our mission. The Charity Day organizers said, “The Bone Marrow Foundation’s participation in embracing the spirit of the day means a great deal to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and all of our employees. John Slattery made such a positive impact at Charity Day, and with his energy and enthusiasm, we (Charity Day) raised approximately $12 million globally.”
