Deborah

Debbie is a 4th grade teacher and grandmother of 3 (14, 11 & 16 months). She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in July 2013. She underwent chemotherapy for five months and remained in remission for 7 months, at which point the leukemia returned. Debbie has been receiving chemotherapy since July 2014, while she waits for a donor match for an allogeneic bone marrow transplant. Debbie’s husband will be acting as her caregiver and they will need to stay near the Mayo Clinic for 100 days post-transplant. Debbie no longer has an income and her medical insurance costs have increased dramatically. The cost of medical care, transportation and living expenses has taken its toll on the family’s finances over the past 18 months. Debbie wants to be a part of her grandchildren’s lives as they grow up and she dreams of going back to her students. Please consider making a contribution to ease her financial burdens.

The Bone Marrow Foundation relies 100% on private donations. Your generous Lifeline Fund donation will make a significant difference in the lives of patients like Deborah.
