Golam was originally diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, which he received chemotherapy for. He has since relapsed and been diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. He is scheduled for an autologous stem cell transplant at the end of March 2015. Golam is currently unable to work and resides with his parents, whom he relies on for financial support. He is in financial distress due to extremely high co-pay and premium costs.
