Patti was diagnosed with multiple myeloma when she was in her late 40s. She had to resign from her job as a special education teacher and her husband recently had to quit his job as a truck driver in order to help care for Patti. They financially support their 14 year old son, who has some special needs. Patti has to travel 5-6 hours round-trip to the hospital and needs help paying for living expenses and transportation.
