Elsa is a 46-year-old mother of three who was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia in September 2014 and underwent an allogeneic bone marrow transplant in October 2014. Elsa continues to maintain a positive outlook and is hopeful for life post-transplant. Elsa’s life revolves around her three daughters, husband, and her son-in-law, all of whom live with her. Elsa cannot work due to her illness, which has placed significant financial strain on her family. Elsa and her family request help with costs related to her transplant including transportation to weekly follow-up appointments, living expenses, and utilities.
