Eric was diagnosed with Refractory Burkitts Lymphoma when he was 24 years old. This very rare, aggressive cancer has spread to Eric’s central nervous system and bones.
In June 2014, Eric developed a lump on his neck, as well as severe back pain that radiated down his legs. After visiting the emergency room, he was sent home with antibiotics and pain medication. In July 2014, Eric was diagnosed with cancer and began treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He has endured intense chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and hospital stays for infections. He has faced countless Lumbar punctures and has an Ommaya reservoir (an intraventricular catheter system) put in under his scalp.
Eric will be undergoing an autologous Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) transplant in January 2015. For the past three years, Eric has been working on becoming a plumber. Because of his illness, he cannot work and is in great need of financial assistance in order to get him through this next phase of his transplant and recovery.
Eric and his family have teamed up with the Bone Marrow & Cancer Foundation in order to raise the needed funds to help pay for Eric’s medical and living expenses. Any contribution will help!
