In the days immediately following recieving the bone marrow last Tuesday, he experienced some nausea and tiredness. Signs of mucositis also began to emerge, and was treated, as it has been before symptoms arose, with special mouth wash and oral meds. 

Big sis and dad were on deck for physical and emotional support and entertainment. I was actually able to leave the hospital for a doctor’s appointment and spent the night in my bed, at home one evening.This was wonderful. 

In anticipation that this weekend could be the toughest one yet ( due to more chemo, antirejection meds, constant fluids and constant nutrition), Child Life set us up for the weekend by giving me a wonderful mother’s day gift from a local non-profit, Faithfully Yours (https://www.faithfullyrestoredwomen.com/who-we-are) and setting up a movie theater in our room equipped w Paramount+ and Disney+ . The movie theater is in memory of a little boy named Keltin who lost his battle with cancer a few years ago. His family keeps his memory alive by helping other families “escape” the long hospital stays by providing a movie theater experience (including popcorn and cotton candy) right in their rooms  https://keltincinemas.com/ I let him watch South Park as long as he paused it whenever the nurse came in. Most of the weekend though, he was out of bed and on his playstation playing RUST. Which allowed me to finally watch Picard…..and on a big screen nonetheless! 

Last, but not least, we got a visit from Dr. Debaun. He is the pediatric hematologist who has been involved in advancing so many fundamentals in hematology and oncology over the last twenty years. We are forever grateful to him and his team
