Going home!

9/22/2022

Hi everyone! This is Veronica, Lucas’ mom. 🙂

First, I want to thank everyone for all of the prayers, love, and support we have received. We are surrounded by a wonderful community of family and friends and for that we are truly thankful.

Today was a good day! Lucas was discharged from the hospital and received his first outpatient treatment. After spending a week in the hospital he is VERY happy to be in the comfort his home.

The first thing he wanted to do when he got home was take a bubble bath. However, Lucas has a PICC line in place and it is very important that the line stay dry, so we had to wrap his arm in plastic. This annoyed him a bit, so it was a quick bath. After he was all cleaned up he enjoyed some outside time. He quickly cycled through all his favorite outdoor activities– playing with his nerf guns, baseball, basketball, and soccer. All the playing wore him out and he spent the rest of the evening relaxing inside before getting ready for bed.

We are taking things one day at a time and are so thankful for the good days.
