Monday is…

10/17/2023

Monday tends to feel like a long day — the beginning of my week, and can be a most productive day when all is new and fresh.  Today, though, my outstanding gastrointestinal issues from the chemotherapy received at transplant and possibly from a compounding build-up from earlier induction immuno/chemotherapy, ‘raised its head’ so to speak.  I emptied my bowels three times, each one progressively worse in nature.

However, if I reflect on the past 30 days of activity, my body and mind continue to grow stronger in response to this draining experience, and my recovery time grows stronger.  I am able to continue to successfully, efficiently, and effectively perform most planned physical and mental activities:

So I smoothly dropped the kids off at their respective schools on time, saying our daily affirmations, talking with both of them about their studies and the schedule for the upcoming week and some of the priorities to prepare for.  I see and appreciate my route, and the beauty of the nature around me.  When I returned home, I regathered my thoughts and was able to review our finances and cash flow for the current week in preparation for my weekly financial meeting with Yvonne.

As I recover, I remind myself to continue to maintain “patient endurance” with the process, to recognize and acknowledge the improvements and progress each week, no matter how small– to keep the faith and remember how each day is a new day, is my day, and to live strong with positivity and gratitude.
