In February my husband noticed lymph node swelling on the right side. Due to covid he couldn’t get an appointment with his doctor. He had a virtual visit and was given antibiotics. He finally got in with another doctor with another round of antibiotics. She said if this doesn’t work you need to see an ENT specialist.
Biospy and ct scan proved it was cancer He is stage 4a which I believe could’ve been caught sooner if it wasn’t for pandemic. We are traveling 116 miles one way for treatment to Emory. They have head and neck cancer specialist there. He will have 7 weeks of radiation and chemo with feeding tube.
We are trying to locate lodging for this time to minimize the traveling. I too had cancer in 2018 and was treated at Emory and the trip after surgery is tough. (I received chemo locally)
