Clinical Care Counseling

Free licensed therapists and resource counselors are available for emotional support and logistical guidance

We know that for cancer and transplant patients and their families, the coronavirus and social distancing have created additional hardships, both logistical and emotional.

Clinical Care Counseling provides free individual supportive therapy as well as financial and resource guidance. Patients and families are under a tremendous amount of stress when faced with a cancer diagnosis or needing a bone marrow or Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) transplant. This program empowers patients to advocate for themselves and to receive the best support possible.

Licensed therapists are available for telephone sessions to help patients, family members and caregivers with emotional support. Telephone counseling offers almost complete anonymity and ease, as it allows you to communicate without traveling. It also allows you to attend sessions when you are not feeling well. Ten 25-minute appointments are available for each patient.

“Being treated for leukemia has been one of the hardest things I've ever dealt with. The COVID-19 situation has made this time even more difficult. Having a therapist available to me has made a huge difference in helping me manage my anxiety during this overwhelming time.”
