Reaching out to a Community of Support

Welcome to Amy’s Carelines page! Thank you for coming to support Amy in her journey of recovery. Here you can:

In the month of May 2021, I developed what was thought to be RSV. I was fatigued and starting getting dizzy spells and light headedness. I was put on antibiotics. The medication was not working. After calling the oncall doctor a couple times and being told to continue with the antibiotics, I had come home from work early on a Monday and told my boyfriend that I needed to go to the ER. I never ask to go to doctor.

At the ER, they did all sorts of tests. Told me to follow up with my primary as I was anemic. Tuesday was my follow up with more tests. That Thursday, I was called in for results. My primary told me that I would be seeing an oncologist in two to three weeks. Seen the oncologist the following Monday for more tests.

On June 11, 2021, I was sitting in my morning meeting at work and received a phone call from my oncologist. I excused myself from meeting and went to my car. There I was told I was diagnosed with AML. From that day, my life changed in so many ways. I never thought I would be battling cancer.

That is where my journey began.......
