Reaching out to a Community of Support

Welcome to Steven’s Carelines page! Thank you for coming to support Steven in his journey of recovery. Here you can:

July 2 2021 I was transported to the hospital via ambulance due to debilitating back pain. I thought I had strained or injured my back. I was admitted that day when they determined I had extremely high calcium levels. It didnt take long for the oncologist to suggest I have Multiple Myeloma.

Aftrer receiving a bone marrow biopsy that was confirmed. I spent 21 days in the hospital going through various tests, treatments and physical therapy. When I was discharged I was in a wheelchair due to the back pain combined with the weakness from being in the hospital bed for 21 days.

Thanks to the miracles of modern medicine. !4 radiation treatments on what ended up being a tumor on my spine. The pain has subsided to a managable level.

I since then received 19 outpatient cancer treartments as well as taken medication at home. I am at a point where my oncologist has referred me to the top hospital in Chicago for a Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) transplant.

I met with the transplant coordinator this week and everything is scheduled to happen In February.

Beginning !/31, I will be giving myself injections of medication to produce HCT. 2/1 they will begin Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) havesting at the hospital. This takes 2 to 5 days. 2/9 I will be admitted to begin the process of the Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) transplant.
