Reaching out to a Community of Support

Welcome to James’s Carelines page! Thank you for coming to support James in his journey of recovery. Here you can:

I was born and raised by loving and devoted parents in Philadelphia, PA. I joined the airforce July 1, 1981 and served my country living all over the world until retiring as Master Sergeant January 1, 2005. My life was going according to my plan. I had a successful career and married to the love of my life. We settled in New Mexico and raised our sons to be the best version of themselves. I was finally going to take some time to enjoy the freedom of retirement. Golf, good food, and good company...need I say more? Then I received my diagnosis in 2015. There are no words to describe how my life changed. Being diagnosed with cancer forced me to put my life in perspective but it also gave me a new determination to do whatever was required of me to survive. My initial treatment slowed the growth but in 2021 my treatment plan changed to include the need for a bone marrow transplant. I knew I could no longer survive alone. I am grateful that my sons stepped up to this new challenge with no hesitation. I was raised with the proverb it takes a village to raise a child. As an adult, I understand now more than ever how growth and survival is acheived with other's support and strength. Support can come in many ways but every bit helps. Thank you for supporting me in my recovery and survival.
