Reaching out to a Community of Support

Welcome to Ryan’s Carelines page! Thank you for coming to support Ryan in his journey of recovery. Here you can:

On January 31st, Ryan was diagnosed with Leukemia. What type was pending many tests, and he began chemo therapy in pill form while awaiting answers. February 5th, the doctors had our answers. Ryan was fully diagnosed with a duel acting leukemia, AML [acute myeloid leukemia] and CML [chronic myeloid leukemia]. Ryan began induction chemo therapy that night for 7 consecutive days, only being unhooked for a nightly shower. Thankfully, Ryan Leukemia has responded to induction chemo, and treatment moved into consolidation chemo. However, his team of doctors at TGH referred him to Moffitt for conditioning chemo and Hematopoietic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) Transplantation (HCT) (SCT)/bone marrow transplant. This stay is expected to be 3-6 weeks in patient at Moffitt followed by a 60 day stay at near housing/hotel. With test pending this is scheduled to begin mid-July. We also have been informed that there is a chance that Ryan will not be able to return to work for up to 1 year from the transplant date. This is due to being highly immune compromised and not knowing how quickly Ryan body will begin to produce a healthy immune system. We have decided after much debate to set up this fundraiser to help offset some of the additional cost and living expenses, since we are now down to one income. Any donation is greatly appreciated no matter how large or small. If you are unable to donate, we would appreciate it if you could share and keep Ryan and our family in your prayers. Thank you for reading.
