Update from Ryan below:
Chemo #41 ✅
After not being able to do treatment last week due to my lab work, it was better today and I felt good this week. Brooke and I braved the snowstorm today to get here. Good thing UIHC is only about 10 minutes from our house.
Looking ahead, I have an appointment next week with my oncologist here at the university. Brooke and I will be heading up to Mayo at the end of the month to get a CT scan and meet with my oncologist up there. This will be a big scan, but really which scan isn’t?
The shirt I am wearing in the picture from today’s treatment is one that my Uncle Al wore. For those of you who don’t know, Al battled pancreatic cancer from 2019-2021 before passing away. We share the BRCA genetic mutation that made us more susceptible to cancer. The guidance and support we’ve gotten from my Aunt Jeannie has been immeasurable in my fight with pancreatic cancer. It felt right to wear this today and keep my “eye on survival” even though I know I’ll probably feel crappy in the next few days.
In other news, I put out my second song called “The Kids Don’t Understand”. I wanted to do a song that was more fun and lighthearted than “Wash Me Away”. Here is the link to listen to both of my songs on SoundCloud: https://on.soundcloud.com/xeu9y4AAEwoZucUr8. I hope to have the music video finished by early next week. Thanks for listening and supporting and following my new hobby.
Stay warm and safe during this snow storm and Arctic blast we are getting in the coming days to those living in my area! Thank you all for your support!
Ryan
