New update from Ryan:
Chemo #45 ✅
I am feeling pretty good after the COVID issue a couple of weeks ago. I am still having swelling/fluid around my ankles, but my weight is back down to what it was at the beginning of February. I had gained more than 10 pounds in mid February that was all fluid in my legs, feet, and ankles. It was like walking with bricks attached to my legs.
Clinical trial update: we got a call from Memorial Sloan Kettering earlier this week telling us that I do not qualify for the chemo/Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) transplant trial that we were really hoping to be part of. This is due to the radiation I had to the tumor spot on my liver last June.
This is really disappointing since we are wanting a better maintenance option than just continuing chemo. This trial sounded very promising and we know of somebody who is now cancer free 2 1/2 years after doing the trial and he is doing great.
As you can see, I’m back in the chemo chair this week. Here’s hoping I don’t have any of the chemo/covid side effects from last time. We are heading up to Wisconsin this weekend to see family and are looking forward to that. The kids have conferences and a day off next week, so they are also excited for a free day and some warmer weather again.
Thank you all for your support!
Ryan
