New update from Ryan:
Chemo #46 ✅
Another treatment done as I head into spring break at work.
Since my last update, we have now expanded our sights nationwide to see what would be a good clinical trial option for me. Brooke and my oncologist at UIHC had a lengthy discussion about my genetic mutations and trials. I sat next to them dumbfounded, staring off into space with my eyes glazed over. They were going back and forth rattling off names, letters, and numbers that I knew next to nothing about.
Brooke continues to amaze me with the knowledge she has gained over the past 3 years. She never stops learning and doing everything she can as a caretaker. ❤️
This week was a little rough with side effects. After getting home Sunday from our great weekend trip to see family in Wisconsin, I started to have body aches all over. That then proceeded into chills and a fever. It was miserable. Luckily avoided another ER trip as we were able to get the fever to drop overnight.
The nerve pain in my legs decided to show back up after not being an issue after the last couple of treatments. Those were gone by Thursday morning.
On Wednesday night, I got to be apart of Project Purple’s Super Human group. It was amazing to connect with about 15 pancreatic cancer survivors from around the country. There were a few that I have met before over social media or in person. We shared our stories and experiences. We also collaborated on ideas to help make pancreatic cancer more of a focus to others. It still does not get enough attention and support and that is not okay!
Looking forward to resting this weekend and enjoying spring break with the kiddos. Have a great week everybody!
Ryan
