Hi Everyone- Update from Brooke: Ryan’s had a busy few weeks with traveling to Florida and then starting his third round of chemo when he returned last week. We got some good news last week when his CA19 (tumor marker) came down by half and is now 1,480 from 3,755. While this is still very far from normal (below 34) it’s a step in the right direction.
Ryan had a “check in” CT scan today. The results show a slight increase in the size of both tumors in his liver; however, there are no new lesions to be found and everything else looks great. While we had hoped for a slight decrease in the size, we know realistically that Ryan has only had two total rounds of treatment and is coming off three weeks between chemo treatments. Since the CA19 is trending in the right direction, we have faith the chemo will begin decreasing the tumor size and we will have great results on the next scan.
We are focusing on staying healthy and making sure Ryan is at his physical and mental best for the long haul while between treatments. On a side note: he is coaching Asher’s rec league basketball team, so this is pretty awesome to be able to say while getting active treatment for pancreatic cancer. He’s pretty amazing!
Thanks again for everyone’s prayers and support! We are always grateful!
