Hey All- here’s an update from Brooke:
Hey Everyone! It’s been awhile since we updated, but besides minor side effects, there isn’t a whole lot to update right now. Today marks two years exactly that Ryan went to the ER with what was supposed indigestion, and our world was turned upside down. Only 20% of people live past a year with pancreatic cancer, and we are incredibly grateful to have my husband and the kids’ dad still around after two years. It certainly hasn’t been easy, but we know we are so very lucky!
We left yesterday to finally take the trip to the Gulf Shores that we were supposed to take two years ago when Ryan was diagnosed. We wanted to commemorate the amazing accomplishment Ryan has achieved with a family beach picture in our pancreatic cancer shirts. We are thankful to be able to make this trip happen!
Ryan completed his 5th round of chemo a few days ago, which consists of two weeks of chemo on Fridays and then one week off to recover. We are grateful to the integrative oncologist we have been working with because his side effects have been pretty minor and not disruptive. Also thanks to her, his liver enzymes have been well controlled also. He’s had some very normal side effects related to his blood, so the dosage of chemo has to be reduced sometimes. Luckily, we have been able to keep chugging along though!
Again, it’s been a long two years, but we are so thankful for those who support us and pray for us! ❤️ We love you all!
