Back at it yesterday!

Treatment #29 ✅

My platelets are pretty low this week, but I was able to still get my treatment yesterday. Low platelets = risk for bleeding issues so I have to watch myself and not get injured.

The plan is for one more treatment next week (hopefully my platelets will cooperate to be able to get this) with a PET scan soon after to see the results of the radiation and additional chemo. This will help determine our next options. Then I see the doctor on August 18. I will update once we have the results of the PET scan, and again once we know our plan moving forward.

In other news: This week, through the AYA program at the University of Iowa Hospitals, I met the co-creator/music producer of Play It Back Music Program. This national program based out of Los Angeles works with cancer patients and survivors through the process of creating songs through songwriting, producing, and/or singing or playing music. I am taking my poem that I shared over social media a few months back as a start to writing songs. I am excited about the opportunity to learn from the music producer with the possibility to work with celebrity musicians who give their time. I have the makings of a song in very rough draft form already put together.
