Reaching out to a Community of Support

Welcome to Rob’s Carelines page! Thank you for coming to support Rob in his journey of recovery. Here you can:

Dear Friends of Rob and Megan Butler,

I am writing to you on behalf of my longtime friends, Rob and Megan Butler.  For those of you who have known them as long and as well as I have, consider yourselves blessed and very lucky, for they are true gems.

Sadly, in March of 2023, Rob received a devastating terminal diagnosis of metastatic synovial sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer occurring in large joints that has left him with precious little time.  Since he has been undergoing intensive, in-hospital, week-long chemotherapy treatments for the last 16 months, he has only been able to work sporadically.  To make matters worse, Rob lost his beloved sister, Vicki, on June 29 to a different rare form of cancer. The following day, Rob suffered a stroke and is currently working to recover his speech and cognitive abilities. After the stroke, the family suspended further cancer treatment and Rob is now in hospice care.

Medical and living expenses have become overwhelming, and Rob can no longer work. With their youngest son, John, starting college next month, the Butlers need immediate financial help from their friends.

Rob graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1988.  He is a veteran, a supportive husband, a loving father to William, Caroline, and John, and an amazing friend to so, so many people. Rob and Megan are blessed with many friends, but that is because they have been truly exceptional friends to all. Rob and Megan have thrown open their doors to so many people and have hosted, fed, and entertained with so much happiness.

I am asking that you open your heart and please consider generously contributing to this fundraising effort for Rob and his family. If you are not able to contribute financially, perhaps you could share his story with others who may be able to help. Your support, whether through donations, prayers or by spreading awareness, means so much to the Butler family. Thank you ~ Jeanne M Babinski
