Reaching out to a Community of Support

Welcome to Jaison’s Carelines page! Thank you for coming to support Jaison in his journey of recovery. Here you can:

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We urgently need your help for Jaison Vilera, a 27 year old, former minor league baseball player for the New York Mets, who is bravely battling choriocarcinoma—a rare and aggressive type of testicular cancer, historically associated with a 36% two year survival rate. Jaison received four rounds of chemotherapy in December 2023, after the cancer spread from his left testicle to his brain, stomach and lungs.  Thank God, the chemotherapy worked effectively to eliminate almost all of Jaison’s cancer.  He is now on his last phase to becoming cancer free: undergoing three major surgeries to remove the remaining cancerous masses in his stomach, lungs and left testicle.

Jaison’s Journey

Jaison currently is in New York City for treatment and is in the US by himself without any immediate family members.  He is a father to a 4 year old son named Jaison Jr who resides in Maracay, Venezuela with the rest of Jaison’s family.  Jaison first came to the states in 2015 as a minor league baseball player after signing with the Mets for a modest $10,000 bonus.  After seven years in the organization he was released in May 2022. Now, Jaison is fighting a fierce battle against cancer, and the physical, emotional, and financial toll on him and his young family is immense.
