Dear Beautiful Strands of Hair,
You are beautiful. You are full of body and your style has given me confidence to be a beautifully strong and resilient woman. We have a connection; I’m attached to you, and you have proudly been attached to me. That’s why, it is with a heavy heart that I write this letter to you—to let you know we must part ways temporarily.
So today I took you to the river’s edge so we could sit beneath the blue sky and feel the sun shine down upon us. The wind blew down from the mountains and through the trees as it tangled all of your strands in to a beautiful undone mess. You are truly radiant!
Cancer is a thief and the chemo keeps coming, so I’ve decided THIS opportunity is one that it will NOT take from me. We’ll be back together again someday, of that I’m sure and we will once again walk together through the tall trees and sit beneath blue skies at the water’s edge. Until we rise again, be resilient!
