Reaching out to a Community of Support

June 15th

By on

A lot has happened since my last update. Kevin has completed several needed pre tests for his admission to Stanford. Starting with an Echocardiogram that showed a strong healthy heart, an ultrasound to determine the presence of any unresolved blood clots (results unknown at this time), another bone marrow biopsy and a pulmonary function test to access his lung health. All that plus a video visit with his UC Davis hemotologist to check in on Kevin's status. I completed two non stress tests and a amniotic fluid intex to ensure baby girl is growing and thriving. We also received some good news from Stanford in that a donor has been found and they are an 8/10 match. With this piece of the puzzle completed we now have some potential dates for admission and a start to the bone marrow transplant process. Dates to follow as we get closer and more items get checked off the list. As for now he is to begin another round of chemo Monday June 17th, in order to stay within the low blast cells parameters. He did well with the last round but please continue the prayers and thoughts for postiivity as he was hoping to not have to do another round. As for baby girl, I was scheduled to induce on Friday at 7am but as the world of babies go the best laid out plans rarely work and they called to delay due to impaction of labor and delivery. It was a huge emotional let down for this mama, who is completely done being pregnant in this heat and not being able to keep most meals down. I solved my disapointment with longs naps and crying most of Friday. But such as life, we move on and are now scheduled for Sunday June 16th (tomorrow morning yikes) so if you are reading this at any given time on Sunday please say a small prayer that I didn't get rescheduled! The hope is to meet little sister before Kevin starts chemo the next day. Thank you for all the continued support and prayers. Some big changes are happening so keep checking back for light amongst the darkness.
