62nd Annual Gold & Silver Ball

The 62nd annual Gold & Silver Ball will be held on December 21 at 583 Park Avenue. The Ball includes senior, junior, and sophomore attendees from NYC private schools and boarding schools. This special evening is a black tie event consisting of dinner, dancing, a photo booth and more. Over 1,000 students are expected to attend the Ball, which raises funds for The BMCF’s Lifeline Fund. Tickets are extremely limited and issued on a first come-first serve basis.

Understanding the Impact of Nutrition and Gut Bacteria on Transplant Outcomes

Guest speakers from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance will focus on the nutritional approaches adopted by hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) centers, the nutritional impact on graft versus host disease (GVHD), and oral considerations prior to transplant. They will discuss the neutropenic diet and how microbiome impacts nutritional care.

Elizabeth Lesser is the author of several bestselling books, including Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow. Her latest book, Marrow: Love, Loss and What Matters Most, is a memoir about Elizabeth and her younger sister, Maggie, and the process they went through when Elizabeth was the donor for Maggie’s bone marrow transplant.
