Miles Curry
In late November of 2010, Miles Curry was experiencing pain on the left side of his body. His mother, Rosalind, brought him to the pediatrician for an exam and blood work. When the testing showed that his blood counts were all low, Miles was immediately taken to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and it has basically been home to him ever since.
Miles was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) and underwent a bone marrow transplant in April. Since then, Miles, now ten years old, required surgery on his left eye after he experienced a loss of vision and his doctors felt this was the best option to save his eyesight.
Although Miles has endured so much his mother feels that he is still the same Miles. He is asking questions and requiring answers. He is cracking jokes and coming up with witty comebacks. He is still making funny faces for no apparent reason. He is still her smarter than ever son.
The emotional support Miles and his family have gotten thus far has been amazing and they truly thank God for that. Unfortunately, the medical expenses associated with Miles hospitalization have been substantial. To help with these expenses, Miles’ family has teamed with the Bone Marrow & Cancer Foundation to set up a special One-to-One Fund to collect donations on his behalf. Any donations that can be made will be greatly appreciated.
