Rodney

Rod has worked most of his life in the construction and flooring business. He was diagnosed with myelofibrosis four years ago. In June 2014, his spleen began to enlarge and he became extremely fatigued. Shortly after being diagnosed, Rod consulted with a stem cell transplant oncologist in Seattle. He was determined to be a candidate for transplant if his spleen could be shrunk. A splenectomy was recommended before any transplant was to occur.
For the splenectomy and subsequent transplant, coverage is not available through Medicare since myelofibrosis is not a listed condition. Rod and his wife, Elaine, must collect funds in order to pay for these procedures and any additional costs. The Sniders have been unable to identify a specific hospital that will be willing to accept any partial payments toward the donor match process.
Elaine owns and operates a coffee shop, but does not produce much profit. Rod now works part-time. He does not possess the financial resources to pay for these medical expenses.
The Sniders have decided to team up with the Bone Marrow & Cancer Foundation in order to raise funds for this life-saving and necessary transplant. Any assistance that can be offered would be greatly appreciated!
